Voting is now open to choose which local community groups you think deserve a share of £50,000 of funding from Wirral Council.
Residents can vote online to fund projects put forward by voluntary and community groups working in the area.
The money comes from Wirral West Constituency Committee, which has funded nearly 170 local projects in the last two years.
Cllr Jeff Green, Chair of Wirral West Constituency Committee, said: “We want local people to use their vote to be part of deciding where this funding goes, supporting the great work local groups do in their community.
“This year we have received more project applications from across Wirral West than ever before, showing we have fantastic communities in our area who want to make a real difference.”
Wirral Community Orchestra Percussion Project
Wirral Community Orchestra would like to buy some additional percussion equipment. The orchestra, which is based at West Kirby United Reformed Church, actively recruits players of all abilities to develop their musical skills and serve the community.
West Kirby Messenger Community Magazine
Transition Town West Kirby would like to pay printing costs for the front cover of West Kirby Messenger for three editions to keep it advert-free and to secure space inside the not for profit magazine.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Manikins
Calday Grange Swimming Pool Trust would like to purchase CPR Manikins to help with lifeguard training at the pool. The equipment gives a realistic idea of the human body, especially when dealing with young children, undergoing resuscitation in the event of drowning cases.
Beyond Recovery (Wirral West Voices)
Beyond Recovery, which is based at West Kirby United Reformed Church, would like some help towards the running costs of group sessions. The sessions are based on creative arts and writing and producing a 20 page booklet that showcases positive mental health.
Ashton Park Interpretative Boards
Friends of Ashton Park would like to start work purchasing and installing interpretation boards providing information on the history of the park.
West Kirby Arts Centre Community Event Resource
West Kirby Arts Centre would like funding to purchase additional audio equipment, repair/replace damaged equipment and undertake PAT testing. This will help to continue and build on the opportunity to support, encourage, inspire and facilitate local community events.
West Kirby Methodist Church Community Activities IT Support
The Methodist Church would like some help with running costs and equipment to enable them to provide 10 weeks of free beginners IT Courses. The courses are aimed at encouraging older people in the community to learn about modern ways of communication and in this to feel less isolated in their day to day lives.
West Kirby and Wasps FC Fun For All
West Kirby & Wasps FC would like some help towards running two fun football festivals for young people aged 5-13 from the local community.
West Kirby Christmas Lights
West Kirby Christmas Lights would like a contribution towards Christmas lights and seasonal displays to illuminate West Kirby this coming Christmas. .
Shelter for Hoylake Marine Bowls Club
Hoylake Marine Bowls Club would like to purchase an outdoor shelter to keep members and visitors to Meols Parade Gardens sheltered from the elements – at present the club don’t have any means of shelter outside the pavilion building .
Young At Heart at St John the Baptist
St John the Baptist Church would like to purchase two laptops with word processing software and a jigsaw puzzle storage board for their new Young at Heart group.
Heating the Melrose Club
Melrose Club would like a contribution towards a new electric central heating system. At present the organisers use portable electric heaters, the hall hosts up to 300 people per week and a lot of the hall users are older people so would benefit greatly.
A Garden at the Parade
Hoylake Parade Community Centre would like some help towards improving the Centre’s garden area so it can be used by all members of the community. As well as local nurseries, older people and users of the soft play area, the garden project will also provide work experience opportunities for students with special needs from Wirral Metropolitan College.
Lighting the Parade
Hoylake Parade Community Centre would like to install LED fittings and floodlights to a stairwell and car park at the centre.
Decorating Hoylake JFC’s Pavilion
AC Hoylake JFC would like to make improvements to their changing pavilion. Following guidance from the FA and Sport England the club have already carried out drainage works to the pitches and are now in the final stages of work in making the facilities safe and attractive.
Festival of Firsts Community Participation Project, Hoylake Carnival Parade
The Festival of Firsts wants to increase community cohesion and well-being and visitor numbers by providing a fabulous community Hoylake Carnival Parade featuring, and supporting some of the best Wirral based parade performers to celebrate and promote sporting activity in a fun and accessible way.
Festival of Firsts Community Participation Project, Children’s Festival
Wirral Festival of Firsts have asked for some help towards Circus Performers and a Pop Up Children’s Theatre to perform at the Children’s Festival element of the festival programme.
Queens Park Bowling Green Picket Fence
HAWK Bowling Club would like to install a picket fence around Queens Park bowling green to ensure the green is kept at a high standard. With dwindling member numbers the Club needs to secure the quality of the green to attract more players of all ages.
Queens Park Seating Improvements
HAWK Bowling Club were previously awarded funding for 10 benches to be placed around the bowling green area of Queens Park and part funded for the installation of the benches. They would now like to install the last concrete base and secure the final new benches into place.
Hoylake Summer Beach Volleyball
Wirral Rebels Volleyball Club would like some help towards purchasing some equipment for the Club and will organise weekly beach Volleyball sessions open to all throughout the summer on Hoylake beach culminating in a local beginners tournament.
St Hildeburgh’s War Memorial and Community Woodland Walk
St Hildeburgh’s Parish Church in Hoylake has asked for some help towards relocating the World War I War Memorial which is currently situated in the church car park to a more visible location at the east of the church facing The King’s Gap.
Hoylake and Meols in Bloom Events Equipment
Friends of Hoylake and Meols in Bloom would like some help purchasing equipment to use at the ever increasing amount of events the Friends co-ordinate. The equipment will help towards running the events more efficiently which in turn will encourage members of public to come back to events in Hoylake’s parks and gardens.
Parade Gardens Seaside ‘Grasses Bed’ Wall Renovation
Friends of Hoylake and Meols in Bloom would like to start work on rendering on the ‘grasses bed’ wall which is a unique bed specialising in various ornamental grasses.
Parade Gardens Replacement Murals
Friends of Hoylake and Meols in Bloom would like to replace 7 murals situated on the sensory garden wall in the Parade Gardens. A local artist designed and created the original 7 murals that have now deteriorated.
Hilbre Scout Group HQ Improvements
Hilbre Scout HQ in Elm Terrace, Hoylake provides a place for many local children to come together each week, have fun and learn new skills. The Scout HQ is, however, an old building and is in need of a lot of work to make is a safer, more pleasant environment for children to meet.

Positive Developmental Change CIC’s Iris Programme is a project that delivers a range of holistic treatments, group development workshops and one-to-one support free of charge to members of the community.
Advertising for Hoylake Model Boat Club
The model boat club situated on the lake next to the lifeboat station would like to purchase some freestanding flags to highlight the presence of the boat club and to be used at open days and other events.
St Luke’s Food and Friends Lunch Club
St Luke’s Food & Friends Lunch Club based in Hoylake would like some help towards the running costs of their lunch club. The lunch club benefits local people who are socially isolated and may face discrimination.

The voting deadline is noon on Friday 18th March 2016.
