Merseyside Police today issued CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to about a shop burglary in West Kirby.

Two men forced their way into the Go Local convenience store in Grange Road, and stole cash from the shop, just after 8pm on Wednesday, November 16 last year.

The shop had been locked up for the night two hours earlier, and the theft was not discovered until the following morning.

Detectives have tracked down CCTV images from another shop nearby, and now want to speak to the two men pictured.

The first man is described as white, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall, bearded, wearing a navy coat and carrying a yellow drawstring bag and a dark coloured rucksack. He was wearing gloves and dark coloured trainers.

The second man is described as white, bearded, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall, wearing a navy North Face coat with a grey woollen beanie hat and dark tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers, carrying a bag for life which resembled a Sports Direct bag.

Detective Inspector Mike Dalton said: “We are keen to speak with the men pictured to assist us in our enquiries.

“This was an opportunistic theft using implements to enter the premises and people may have either witnessed the offence or seen people acting suspiciously around 8pm close to the store. Any information you can provide may be key to the investigation.

“I want to assure all businesses that we do everything possible to identify offenders who targeted businesses and bring them to justice, and ensure that Wirral remains a safe place to live, work and visit.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises these men locally may know them from elsewhere to contact police.”
