Hoylake journalist Jade Wright is to edit a new food and drink magazine for Merseyside.

Jade, who wrote the Liverpool Echo’s food and drink pages for more than a decade, is to edit Good Taste Magazine, celebrating the area’s thriving hospitality sector.

After previously working for the BBC and freelancing for newspapers and magazines across the country, Jade says that Good Taste is the most exciting job she’s ever had.

She says: “Every week we see new bars and restaurants opening their doors. We see this in West Kirby with the great range of places to eat and drink, across Wirral and into Liverpool too. Merseyside’s food and drink scene is booming, and we want to celebrate that.

“I get lots of messages from people who love food and drink asking which restaurant to try next or where might be suitable for a special occasion. There are so many new places it’s often hard to choose where to go. We want to help with that, and spread the word about brilliant independent businesses.

“We have a team of journalists who eat, sleep and breathe food and drink, who’ve worked for years at the heart of what has become the most exciting scenes in the UK. We are working hard to bring you all the latest news, reviews and insight you need to be sure you experience the best Merseyside has to offer, from restaurants and bars to cafes and independent food and drink producers too.”

The website (www.goodtastemagazines.co.uk) will be updated throughout the day, as well as channels on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/GoodTasteMagazineUK), Twitter (https://twitter.com/Good_TasteMag) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/goodtastemagazine).

20,000 copies of the print publication will be distributed free in restaurants, bars and cultural attractions across Merseyside. The website is live now and the first print issue will be launched at the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival in September.

Jade adds: “If you’re interested in stocking Good Taste, or are a food and drink business who’d like to share a story, we’d love to hear from you. If you’d like to reach customers with Good Taste, get in touch with us about advertising opportunities in print and online.”

Jade will continue to work as a freelance writer and editor alongside her new role.
