Looking for somewhere to go for a few scoops on New Year’s Eve?

If you’ve not made any plans as yet, we’ve rounded up four local venues which should have a great atmosphere, where you won’t have to pay to get in.

Scout, Banks Road, West Kirby
Smart dress is the order of the night on New Year’s Eve as they host a ‘shirt and tie’ party. There’s buy one get one free on cocktails, two Budweiser for a fiver and half price prosecco from 11pm for you to pop at midnight.

West Kirby Tap, Grange Road, West Kirby
A great place for live music, real ale and bar snacks, the Tap’s New Year’s Eve party includes Smile Forecast playing from 8.30pm till 12.30am and there’ll be canapés and fizz at midnight. What’s not to like?

White Lion Inn, Grange Road, West Kirby
This traditional boozer has been dragged into the 21st century over the last six months by new owner Andy Cockram, who’s given the place a light makeover and brought in a much-needed range of new wines, spirits, ales and lagers, as well as free wi-fi – and consigned the ‘cash-only’ bar to history by introducing a card machine. It’s been very busy throughout the festive season and it’s looking like New Year’s Eve will be no exception.

Whitt’s End, Market Street, Hoylake
This place has been through a few incarnations in recent years, but the former owners of the Ship Inn are making a real go of it since taking it over. If you fancy starting early, the first 30 people through the door after 5pm all get a free glass of fizz and DJ Stu will be spinning the tunes to get you in the mood to party your way into 2019.
