Tranmere FC star launches training camp for budding goalkeepers over Christmas holidays

Tranmere FC goalkeeper Joe Murphy has announced the launch of training sessions in West Kirby this Christmas.

Murphy, who was twice-capped for Ireland, began his career in 1998 with Tranmere Rovers before securing a move to the Premier League to join West Bromwich Albion. He has also played for Walsall, Sunderland, Scunthorpe United, Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Chesterfield and Shrewsbury Town.

The UEFA qualified coach, who lives in West Kirby, is now sharing his experience with budding young goalkeepers in Wirral, as well as helping to keep young people fit and healthy.

The Goalkeeping Holiday Camp, which is for boys and girls age 6 upwards,  takes place at West Kirby Utd, Greenbank Road, West Kirby (entrance next to recycling depot), from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 December from 9am – 3pm (with drop off available from 8.30am).
