To celebrate Pancake Day, a local ice cream, crêperie and waffle parlour has created a special dish inspired by West Kirby beach.
Staff at Rubens Parlour, on Banks Road, developed the crêpe complete with biscuit crumb sand, bubblegum sauce sea, whipped cream clouds and a lemon sun.
Leon Kearney, manager of Rubens Parlour, said: “The weather has been so awful for the past few weeks, so it’s nice to create a bit of seaside sun even if it’s only on a plate.”

Rubens will be open until 6pm and will be serving the special crêpe, which costs £2, throughout the day.
If you prefer to make your own pancakes at home, staff have created this how to video guide.
