The crew of West Kirby lifeboat took part in a training exercise this morning with the coastguard’s new search and rescue helicopter.
Early morning walkers at the marine lake watched as the distinctive red and white Sikorsky Rescue 936 helicopter joined the exercise off the Wirral coast just after 9am.
The exercise also involved the crew of the Flint Lifeboat.
The new the civilian UK search and rescue (SAR) helicopter service was launched at Caernarfon Airport in July last year. The new service replaced the iconic yellow Sea King helicopter.
