West Kirby link to murder investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in the Aigburth area of Liverpool have issued an appeal for information about a car stolen from West Kirby.

Blake Brown was gunned down on Monday October 24 and died in hospital having been found in Southwood Road.

The white Range Rover Evoque, which had the registration PN13 YSO, was stolen from West Kirby on Friday 14th October between 8pm and 10pm.

The vehicle was seen in the area of Moel Famau View, off Riverside Drive, Aigburth, on October 24, at approximately 9pm with the registration plates PY12 XMK.

It was driven away around 10.25pm, shortly after the murder of Blake Brown, and travelled towards Jericho Lane in the direction of Sefton Park.

This vehicle was found burnt out in Broad Lane, Heswall, at approximately 9.30pm the following night, Tuesday 25th October.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Tivendale said: “The vehicle was very distinctive. It was white, two-door, with a black roof and white wing mirrors.

“I would appeal to anyone who knows who was driving the vehicle or who had access to it on and around Monday 24th October to come forward.

“I would also ask anyone who knows where the vehicle was being stored between 14th October, when it was stolen, and 24th October to contact us. People may have seen a vehicle which matches the description or similar, perhaps in a lock-up or parked up.”

Anyone who has any information which could assist with the investigation is asked to call 0800 230 0600 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
