Road closures for Platinum Jubilee street party locations

Friends and neighbours in half a dozen streets in West Kirby, Hoylake and Meols have been given the green light to stage street parties during the long weekend to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Special traffic orders have been put in place which will allow the locations to be closed to traffic while street parties take place at various times between Thursday 2nd and Monday 6th June 2022. No details have been released of the times and days of the parties.

Across Wirral, a total of 78 applications for parties have been approved.

The deadline for people to arrange road closures has now passed and no further traffic orders can be implemented in time for the Jubilee weekend.

However, if people or organisations are still considering staging a public event at a local venue, they have until 10 working days before the event to apply for a Temporary Event Notice. More details can be found on the council website
