A normal train service will resume on the Merseyrail network from Monday 20 June.
The return of 15 minute services during the day on most parts of the network, including the West Kirby to Liverpool line, follows emergency timetables over the last two weeks.
It saw cancellations last week and services cut to every half hour this week.
The train operator says this has been as a result of “an unexpected and significant increase in wheel bearing faults”.
This affected the number of trains available to run, with those trains found to have the fault being taken out of service for repair.
On the Ellesmere Port line, a 30 minute service will continue to run.

However, Merseyrail is warning that industrial action next week involving Network Rail staff will mean “there is likely to be a significant impact on our services on days when strikes are taking place”.
Tens of thousands of Network Rail workers are walking out on Tuesday 21, Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 June in a dispute over job security and pay.
Travel advice for passengers is due to be shared this coming Friday.
