Fireworks displays in Hoylake and West Kirby in aid of the RNLI have been given the go ahead.
Their respective Sailing Clubs have been granted permission to hold events following an assessment by Natural England.
The bonfire and fireworks display at Hoylake takes place on Friday 3 November at 6pm.
West Kirby Sailing Club’s event is on Saturday 4 November. It starts at 5:30pm, with a bar, food and a gift shop selling RNLI merchandise, before the fireworks begin at 6:30pm.
It is the first time in four years that the West Kirby event has taken place. In 2020 it was cancelled because of the pandemic, in 2021 it didn’t happen because Natural England required an assessment of the risk to local wildlife, and last year it was called off due to work on the flood wall.
West Kirby Sailing Club Commodore, Adam Whittle, told West Kirby Today: “We are delighted to have been granted permission by Wirral Borough Council, and various Environmental Agencies to hold our fireworks display this year.
“West Kirby Sailing Club started this community event in support of our local lifeboats in 1949 and until COVID restrictions prevented us from doing so, held the event every year since its inception.
“Hot and cold drinks and a BBQ will be available to members of the public from 17.30 with the fireworks starting at 18.30. We hope you can join us!”
