Thousands of pounds was raised for the RNLI in West Kirby and Hoylake at firework displays.
Many people braved the weather at sailing clubs in Hoylake on Friday 3 November, and in West Kirby on Saturday 4 November, after the events were organised at short notice following their go-ahead by Wirral Council and Natural England.
At both events, donations were collected from members of the public, with Hoylake raising over £1,500, and £2,750 collected in West Kirby.
The firework displays are major fundraisers and celebrate the close maritime links between the lifesaving charity and the sailing clubs.
On Facebook, West Kirby RNLI said: “An amazing night last night many thanks to everyone at West Kirby Sailing Club who worked so hard to pull together an amazing fireworks display at such short notice!”
Robin Stratton, Secretary and Vice Commodore at Hoylake Sailing Club, said: “Thanks to the lifeboat for their support with building the bonfire and stewarding the beach, once again cementing our good relationship.
“Despite the short notice and wet weather, people still came out in good numbers and all went really well.”
