West Kirby Rotary Club say ‘On Your Bike’ to prostate cancer

West Kirby Rotary Club are getting on their bikes to tackle prostate cancer.

On Saturday 21 September, from 9am, their members will be saddling up outside the Concourse for a 200km static bike ride which will see them undertake a virtual tour around all the hospitals treating prostate cancer in our region.

As the miles are clocked up, a pin will be moved around the map to chart the rides progress.

The Rotary Ride is a national initiative and aims to support vital life-saving research into prostate cancer and the excellent care provided by the charities through fundraising. All proceeds will go to Prostate Cancer UK.

Chair Tim Sinnot said: “Prostate cancer does not care who it affects or the devastation it causes to patients and their families. We do care. That’s why we’re holding this ride in our area.

“One man dying every 45 minutes is a startling figure and we will do what we can to bring that number down.”

West Kirby Concourse are providing two bikes and Home Instead will be serving refreshments in the library meeting room.

People are invited along to cheer the virtual riders on.

Donations can be made on the day or at https://www.justgiving.com/page/west-kirby-rotary-club-1721655614613.
