Fireworks display raises thousands of pounds for West Kirby RNLI

West Kirby Sailing Club’s fireworks display raised more than £4,500 for the RNLI.

Thousands of people lined South Parade on Saturday 2 November for the 15-minute display.

West Kirby and Hoylake lifeboat station crews were out in force with collection buckets, leading to £4,579.88 being raised.

The funds will directly contribute to the essential work of the local West Kirby RNLI Station, ensuring crews have the resources they need to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies at sea.

WKSC Commodore, Jean Louis Simons, said: “West Kirby Sailing Club really appreciates the fabulous service that the local lifeboats provide.

“We are just happy to be able to give something back to them and provide an event for our local community.”

Richard Diamond, West Kirby Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: “We’re so grateful to West Kirby Sailing Club for their hard work in organising such a fantastic fireworks display.

“It was a wonderful example of our community coming together, not only to enjoy a brilliant evening but to support and raise funds for our lifesaving work.

“Seeing so many people come out to support us means the world to our volunteer crew.”
