Exhibition focusing on West Kirby’s Victorian shelters to take place

A free exhibition is taking place later this month capturing the moments and memories of Victorian shelters on West Kirby promenade.

Local photographer Cath Booton is behind the display, which is on from Friday 28 – Sunday 30 March, at St Bridget’s Centre on St Bridget’s Lane.

It documents not just the physical structure of the shelters, but also the interactions that have taken place in and around them – as a haven, port in a storm, a place of safety, rest or quiet contemplation.

Cath said: “People’s stories are forever embedded in the fibres of these structures.

“You are invited to draw upon your memories and share your experiences.”

The launch event takes place on Friday 28 March from 7:30pm – 10pm, and the exhibition can also be viewed from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March.
