Aldi in West Kirby is closing for refurbishment.
It will shut at 4pm on Sunday 29 June and reopen at 8am on Friday 4 July.
In preparation, part of the car park is being used as an equipment compound.
It is around 13 years since the store opened on the site of a former petrol station and council car park – but the plan wasn’t met with universal approval when it was announced.
Objections made to the council’s planning committee by some residents in 2009 led to a local newspaper headline suggesting West Kirby was ‘too posh’ for the value supermarket chain.
However, since opening it has proved popular, with shoppers struggling to find a space in the car park at peak times.
