West Kirby banking hub opens in permanent home

West Kirby’s new permanent banking hub has opened.

It is located in one of two ground floor retail units at the new ‘Hilbre Sands’ development on Dee Lane.

Plans for a banking hub in West Kirby were announced last year after the NatWest on Banks Road revealed it was pulling out of the town

It closed down at the end of August 2024, and a temporary banking hub opened Westbourne Hall on Westbourne Road.

Banking hubs site offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions.

There is also a ‘community banker’ service where representatives from each major bank come to the hub one day a week to speak to customers about more complicated issues.

Local councillor Max Booth said: “It’s great to see the West Kirby Banking Hub open. Banks are and still should be a critical feature of the modern economy, and we all know how important local banking services are. We’re thrilled that a banking hub is now operational for our residents and businesses.

“I’d like to thank the Post Office and Cash Access officials for working with me and my colleagues over the past 15 months to reach this stage.”

The hub is open Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm.
