A person has died after being struck by a train between West Kirby and Hoylake.
The incident happened at around 2pm on Wednesday 3 December.
British Transport Police confirmed in a statement to the media that they were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended and the person was confirmed dead at the scene.
They added that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Merseyrail services were suspended for several hours.
