Work starting on new luxury apartments development

Work is getting under way demolishing two houses to be replaced with apartments in West Kirby.

Blueoak Estates is developing ‘The Links’ at 100 and 102 Meols Drive, which it claims is “unparalleled in specification, position and space”.

The scheme was approved by Wirral Council’s planning committee last year, despite objections over the demolition of a historic coach house and the impact on views from Royal Liverpool Golf Course.

Blueoak Estates say the two and three-bed, 10-apartment scheme has been designed with “fine point attention to luxury and detail, offering breath-taking views and vast floor area”.

The flats will have views across Royal Liverpool Golf course, the Dee estuary and Welsh hills, with the largest apartment totalling 3,000 sq ft – equivalent to one and a half standard four bed houses.

The development is set across three floors, with underground parking, lift access and outdoor space.

The existing site was originally intended to be a single villa but was instead subdivided around seventy years ago to create two sites, on which the detached homes were built.

Iain MacLean, Managing Director of Blueoak Estates said: “The Links is an absolute show stopper scheme that will set a new benchmark in luxury homes within Wirral.

“We believe that these homes will appeal to a broad audience who are ultimately seeking unrivalled apartment living in one of Wirral’s finest addresses.

“The scheme is already commanding much attention before work on site has commenced. As with the majority of our schemes, we expect to sell these apartments off plan, and with the anticipation and interest The Links has generated this will undoubtedly be no exception.”
