Planning application submitted for luxury housing development

New housing development at Newhall Garage

A planning application has been submitted for a new housing development on the site of a luxury car showroom.

Newhall Cars, on Caldy Road, is set to relocate to a purpose-built showroom and state-of-the-art workshop on a 1.5 acre site in Prenton, just off junction 3 of the M53.

Plans have been submitted to replace the showroom, which was formerly a petrol station, with a development of 6 luxury townhouses designed by Liverpool-based architects Owen Ellis.

The development is made up of 4-bedroom houses with off-road parking and landscaped gardens to the rear.

Phil Griffin, Director of Newhall Cars, said: “The business has gone from strength to strength and this new site will allow us to expand the business to approximately five times its current size.

“We will, of course, expand the original team but the emphasis will be on providing the same level of personal service for which we have become well known.

“The planned housing development is also extremely exciting. The architecturally-designed town houses will be built to a high specification to reflect the prestigious location.”

The developers have already carried out extensive consultations with local people living in neighbouring properties and the plans have been submitted to Wirral Council with a decision expected sometime in February 2016.

If approved, the development is expected to get underway in Spring 2017.

Newhall Cars is a family-run business which specialises in used prestige and performance cars and has been based in Wirral for more than 20 years.
