Hoylake lifeboat crew called after plane suffers technical issue

Hoylake’s lifeboat was put on standby today after a plane which had just taken off from Liverpool John Lennon Airport suffered a technical issue.

The crew were called just after 10am after an easyJet flight from Liverpool to Faro, in Portugal, suffered a problem with its landing gear shortly after take off.

Both Hoylake and New Brighton lifeboats were put on standby along with Merseyside Fire Service’s marine unit as a precautionary measure.

The plane was diverted to Manchester Airport where it landed safely.
