Hundreds of women will take to the streets of West Kirby this Friday to raise money for a local charity.
Wirral Hospice St John’s is inviting women of all ages to take part in their fundraising ‘Glow with the Flow Ladies Twilight Walk’.
The walk will follow a 5-mile circular route, starting and finishing at the West Kirby Concourse Leisure Centre
All money raised will go towards the funding of essential care and support at the hospice.
Teresa Nightingale, Head of Fundraising for Wirral St Hospice St Johns, said there has been an overwhelmingly positive response to the event, with more than 600 women already registered.
She said: “Some incredible donations have been received already.
“We are very excited that so many women and young adults will be coming together to have a really fun, colourful energetic experience in aid of our hospice.”
The walk starts at 7.30pm, but participants can sign in from 6pm onwards.
There will also be a professional, pre-walk ‘clubbercise’ warm-up, and a post-walk raffle along with the chance to buy merchandise from the hospice gift shop.
Everyone taking part will receive a glow stick to carry with them on the route and optional glow-in-the-dark face paint.
Michelle Talgam, Fundraising Development Manager for the Hospice, who organised ‘Glow with the Flow’, says everyone is welcome and there is no minimum sponsorship requirement.
She said: “This will definitely be our biggest and brightest ladies’ night out on the Wirral this year.”
Registration fees are: £15 for over 18’s, £5 for young people aged 10 to 18 and free for children under 10.
