The 2016 West Kirby Santa Dash is to take place on the morning of Sunday December 4, it has been confirmed.
Tickets for the event are now on sale – and it is worth dashing to get yours, because numbers are limited for this hugely popular annual event.
This year, West Kirby’s Santa Dash will take place on the same day as the Liverpool event, but Fiona Hanik, of organisers Run in Wirral, is confident of a big turn-out at West Kirby Concourse.
“We do know that we have the same date as the Liverpool Santa Dash but there are plenty of Santas to go round,” said Fiona.
The Santa Dash is open to all ages and people with a full range of physical abilities, and you can take part in the event as a 10k or 5k run, or a 5k or 2k stroll.
Babies, people in wheelchairs, and family dogs are all welcome, and fancy dress is positively encouraged.
Entry is £5 for adults and £1 for accompanied children over 5, while unaccompanied teenagers over 13 can take part up to 5k for £5. Every entrant receives a free Santa hat, and children under 5 can take part for free.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go to support the Wednesday Night Special Needs Club, which meets at Hoylake Community Centre.
Tickets are available now from the reception desks at West Kirby Concourse and the Oval Leisure Centre in Bebington.
The organisers are also looking for marshals to help out on the day so if you might be able to volunteer, please contact Fiona by messaging the Run in Wirral Facebook page.
