Plans have been approved to build a landmark, Art Deco-style building on West Kirby’s waterfront.
The prestigious apartment block will be built opposite the Marine Lake on the current site of Betton House at 51 South Parade.
Architects say the four-storey building, which will include 8 apartments and 10 car parking spaces, has been inspired by famous Art Deco buildings including The Midland Hotel, in Morecambe, De La Warr Pavillion in Bexhill and the Philharmonic Hall, in Liverpool.
The development has been submitted by Blueoak Estates, and designed by Falconer Chester Hall architects.
Adam Hall, managing director of Falconer Chester Hall, said: “We’re delighted our scheme for Blueoak Estates on West Kirby waterfront has been given the go ahead by Wirral Council.
“There are 8 spacious apartments contained behind the dramatic, fully glazed sea facing elevation of this luxurious landmark scheme, design inspired by the marine Art Deco homes of the 30s.”
A previous submission to build 10 apartments on the site was rejected by Wirral Council over concerns about the impact on neighbouring buildings, which the developers have aimed to address with the revised plans.
