It’s that time of the year again – here’s our pick of fireworks and bonfire events to attend near West Kirby and Hoylake this weekend:

West Kirby Sailing Club fireworks

West Kirby

West Kirby Sailing Club will run its 72nd annual fireworks display on Saturday 4th November, starting at 18.30.

The event, which has run every year since 1946, started just after the last war, for club members’ children, and to form bonds with  the local community.

Every year thousands of people gather on the waterfront to watch the spectacular show, which is run in aid of the local RNLI.

Hoylake Sailing Club host their Annual Bonfire & Fireworks on the beach this Friday from 6pm.

The bonfire will be lit around 18:00 followed by the firework display from around 18:30. The Clubhouse bar will be open from 17:00 onward, and hot food (burgers & hotdogs) and drinks will also be available. Run in aid of the RNLI.

NB 1 North Parade is an alcohol free zone.
NB 2 The bonfire will be smaller than usual to prevent the large tide at 22:00 spreading the embers over the beach.

River of Light

River of Light is returning to the River Mersey on Sunday 5th November 2017 from 6.30pm with a special firework display.

This year they have teamed up with Capital Liverpool, Liverpool’s number one hit music station, who will be providing the soundtrack for the evening.

One of UK’s most successful firework companies Titanium Fireworks will take the helm, and the skies above the River Mersey will be lit up in a way that has never been seen before at this year’s event.

You can view the fireworks from New Brighton promenade from 6.30pm but pre-show entertainment will start from 4pm.
