Road collision victim has died

Police say a man involved in a road traffic collision on Market Street in Hoylake has died.

Simon Jones from New Brighton was seriously injured in the incident on Wednesday 27 November.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene near the King’s Gap roundabout just before 2pm, following reports a Vauxhall Astra was involved in a crash.

Eyewitnesses told West Kirby Today that Mr Jones was trapped underneath the vehicle for a time.

It has now been revealed that the 46-year-old died in hospital on 4 December.
