Police warning over suspected dog poisonings

Police have issued a warning to dog owners after cases of suspected poisonings at Royden Park in Frankby and Storeton Woods.

They have received reports of someone spreading poisoned food at both locations recently.

They say anyone caught will be prosecuted.

In a social media post, the Wirral Policing team warns: “Those of you who own dogs, please be mindful when taking them out for exercise.

“We have received reports of someone potentially spreading poisoned dog food in Storeton Woods and Royden Park.

“If you notice anything or anyone acting suspicious then please do not hesitate to contact us.

“Anyone who is found to do be doing this will be prosecuted.”
