Merseyside Police has confirmed a man’s body has been found on West Kirby beach.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the sailing centre at lunchtime today.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were all in attendance and the RNLI lifeboat was launched.
Both West Kirby and New Brighton lifeboats have been searching the coastline around West Kirby for most of the afternoon, but it has not been confirmed whether this is connected with the discovery of the body.
