The gym and swimming pool at West Kirby Concourse look set to reopen on Monday 12 April.

The move is in line with the next step in the Government’s roadmap to lift Covid-19 restrictions, due to be confirmed on Monday 5 April.

Guinea Gap’s pool and gym in Wallasey will also reopen, as will the pool at Europa in Birkenhead and indoor tennis at Bidston Tennis Centre.

The council says all fitness activities must still be booked in advance and payment is “essential” before attending any facility or activity, either on a pay and play basis or with an Invigor8 membership.

Bookings can be made from Wednesday 7 April, if the Government gives the go ahead to reopen, online at www.wirralleisure.co.uk, or by calling the team on 0151 606 2010.

The council says it is working towards opening further leisure facilities from 17 May in line with the government’s road map, but it may not be possible to reopen all of them because staff are working in other services, and some are operating as vaccination centres.
