West Kirby library now has access to the 1921 Census, enabling people to find out about their family history.

It reveals where 38 million people were, who they were with and what they were doing a century ago.

The service is usually only available online at Findmypast, but is also accessible when you visit Wirral’s libraries.

1921’s census holds details of all households in England and Wales in 1921, plus the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

A full entry on a standard household contains details such as names of persons in each household, their relationship to the head of the household, ages, sex and place of birth and nationality for those born outside the UK.

Other information in the 1921 census includes occupation and place of work, or whether they were in education.
