More than 1,500 people have been through the doors of BoBo West Kirby in the 10 days since it opened.

Owners Steven Burgess and Josh Moore say they have been overwhelmed by the support they have received for the Iberian eaterie on Banks Road, which serves homemade food inspired by traditional Portuguese and Spanish cuisine.

The pair also run the award-winning BoBo wine bar and tasca on Liverpool’s Castle Street.

Steven said: “Since receiving the keys, the reaction to the restaurant has been so positive and, since opening almost overwhelming. The number of people visiting has been phenomenal and we have enjoyed welcoming every single person through our doors and are looking forward to meeting even more.

“It has been hectic but exhilarating and a lot of credit must go to our hardworking staff. We are delighted with how our food has excited so many people, as well as being grateful for our customers’ patience as we find our feet in our new home.”

The opening has created 16 jobs, and they say almost all have been filled by people from the immediate area.

BoBo is also sourcing its seafood, ice cream and flowers from within West Kirby, supplied by The Seafood Shack, The Ice Cream Shop and Eden Floral Design, while their fresh produce comes from other suppliers across the city region.

Josh added: “We aim to be here for the long haul and it’s really important to us that we become part of the community, sourcing locally, delivering a great experience both for our customers and our staff and providing good jobs for Wirral people.

“We truly believe in what we do and we spend a lot of time thinking about the detail and our authenticity and will always tweak until it’s just right. We’ve only just begun but we promise that there’s a lot more to come from us.”
