Dion Dublin has officially opened Mind’s newest charity shop, in West Kirby.

The doors opened earlier this week to the store, located on Banks Road.

The former England footballer, television presenter and pundit, was on hand to welcome locals.

The new shop offers everything from clothing to bric-a-brac.

Donations and sales made at the shop will go to help support the one in four people who experience a mental health problem every year.

As well as inviting the community to donate and shop at the new store, Mind is also calling upon locals to consider volunteering, which is also a great way to make new friends, build confidence and be a route back into work.

Tracey Brooks, Regional Manager, said: “We are so excited to welcome the people of West Kirby to this new Mind shop and are incredibly grateful to Dion for coming and supporting us on opening day.

“There are very easy ways that everybody can get involved such as donating quality items, volunteering in the shop, or simply shopping at the store.

“I urge locals to visit the shop or get in touch to find out more about how they can support us.”

In 2022-23, Mind shops across England and Wales collectively raised £6.5 million which helps fund the charity’s vital work such as the Mind Infoline, information and advice services, and the campaigning Mind does to support the one in four of us who experience a mental health problem every year.
