Police are appealing for information following a burglary at an ice cream shop in West Kirby.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “On Sunday 11 February, a report was received of entry being forced to The Ice Cream Shop in Grange Road, with charity boxes and cash stolen.

“It is believed that the offence took place at round 1pm the previous Sunday, 4 February.

“CCTV and forensic enquiries are ongoing and an image is in circulation of a man that officers would like to speak to.”

Police are asking people with information to contact them on X @MerPolCC or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with reference 24000167046.

The shop owner believes it could be linked to a break-in at nearby Hannah’s cafe on the same day.
