West Kirby plays a starring role in a popular TV series this week.

The Hairy Bikers Go West, broadcast on BBC Two on Tuesday 27 February at 7pm, features a visit to the town by Dave Myers and Si King.

During the trip they go to the Seafood Shack, which is owned and run by Guy Lawrenson.

The series was filmed last September, when they were caught on camera visiting the Dee Lane fish shop by passers-by.

A preview for the programme on the BBC website says: “For their next adventure in the west of Britain, the Bikers are exploring Merseyside and the Wirral, a place that holds a lot of childhood memories for both Dave and Si.

“It’s also an area of the world renowned for its unbeatable musical heritage and cultural identity. And, as the boys quickly learn, it has a food scene to match.”
