West Kirby RNLI has rescued a woman who broke her ankle while walking her dog on Little Eye.

It happened on Sunday lunchtime just after 1pm.

Lifeguards reached the scene first, with the lifeboat, which was carrying paramedics, arriving shortly after.

The patient was taken back to shore and handed over to the North West Ambulance Service.

On Facebook, West Kirby Lifeboat said: “All at West Kirby Lifeboat wish her a very speedy recovery!

“Please do be very careful when walking on the rocks. If they have any mud on them, they are super slippery. If in doubt, stick to the sand.”
