A six-year-old boy has sailed from West Kirby to Hilbre Island, raising more than £1,000 for the RNLI.

Theo completed the challenge on Tuesday 28 May in his optimist dinghy.

The money will be split between West Kirby, Hoylake and Abersoch lifeboat stations.

Dad Matt, who volunteers with West Kirby RNLI, wrote on Just Giving: “Mission complete! Not only made it the 2 miles to Hilbre but sailed around the island to go ashore on the beach on the SE corner.

“Theo says a massive thanks to those who have supported.”
