Cub and Calf in West Kirby is to become Wirral’s latest Family Hub.
Family Hubs are places where families with 0 – 19 year old’s (or 25 for SEND children) can easily access a wide range of support including parenting, social care, education, mental health and physical health.
They have been established by Wirral Council, with money from the Department for Education’s Family Hub Transformation Fund.
The opening launch party takes place at their building on Grange Road on Tuesday 9 July, from 12 – 3pm, with messy play, animals and goody bags, as well as a chance to find about the services on offer.
Mish Laird from Cub and Calf said: “We opened our children’s play cafe three years ago in the centre of West Kirby with our focus being on the parent’s wellbeing.
“Being welcomed into the Family Hub network means we will be able to bring even more support and services to local families.
“To celebrate our launch we are holding a free family event in our community room on Tuesday 9th July 12noon until 3pm.
“All are welcome to drop in to see what is on offer, services such as the local police, the health visitors and the children’s centres, public health, the libraries and the community connectors will be around to showcase what is available to our community and we have goodie bags and free entertainment including princess visits and animal encounters.”
