One of West Kirby’s most popular bars is entering a new era.
Sally and Howie Boyd, the owners of The Wro on Grange Road, are retiring in August, more than 18 years after they opened the venue.
They are handing over the reins of the bar and function room above to new management, but say there will be no change to staff or the events programme.

In an email to customers, the couple wrote: “We are contacting you all to let you know that Howie and I will be retiring in August!
“After an amazing 18.5 years we are handing over to some wonderful people (Andy, Zack and Maria) who we are confident will do a superb job as the new custodians of our beloved Wro!
“We will not be strangers and will be about supporting the new owners. All the staff are transferring across so a seamless transition with all the familiar faces is on the cards!
“We would like to say a huge ‘thanks’ to every single one of you who have been such loyal customers and fabulous supporters over many years – it’s been a blast!”
