BoBo in West Kirby shuts down

BoBo in West Kirby has closed its doors.

The Iberian restaurant, which opened just over 12 months ago on Banks Road, had its last day of trading on Saturday 31 August.

The owners have subsequently removed menus from the window, disabled online table bookings and their Trip Advisor page now says the location is “permanently closed”.

The eatery opened in August 2023, and seemingly got off to a flying start – claiming that it had 1,500 customers through the door in the first 10 days.

Inside BoBo

In June, the owners said the success of their West Kirby outlet had given them the confidence to plan the opening of a new branch at the Northgate development in Chester.

The West Kirby venue had only recently launched a new menu.

The unit in which it was housed was once home to long-standing success stories such as Scog’s and What’s Cooking. However, BoBo’s predecessor Mon Ami lasted only 10 months, and Pickled Walnut and West 34 also came and went in relatively quick succession.

BoBo has been approached for comment.
