People are being invited to observe, photograph and catalogue nature and wildlife across Wirral, including in West Kirby, Thurstaston and on Hilbre Island.
No previous experience is needed to take part, everyone is welcome – all that is needed is a working, charged smartphone with the iNaturalist app installed.
Earlier in the year, community organisations and partners from across Wirral took part in training with Merseyside Biobank to learn how to run the sessions and collect valuable nature data.
The walks are scheduled as follows:
- Friday 25 April, 10.30am-11.30am: Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby
- Saturday 26 April, 10.30am-noon: Prenton Dell Claypit
- Saturday 26 April, 10.30am-12.30pm: Thurstaston Common Local Nature Reserve
- Saturday 26 April, 12.30pm-3pm: Birkenhead Park
- Saturday 26 April, 2pm-5pm: Hilbre Island
- Sunday 27 April, 10am-noon: Dawpool Nature Reserve, Thurstaston
- Sunday 27 April, 12.30pm-3pm: Birkenhead Park
- Monday 28 April, 10am-noon: Wirral Country` Park
