West Kirby Christmas Lights have begun posting fundraising envelopes to homes throughout the town to help pay for this year’s display.
This year they need to raise an extra £9,000 to replace the tree trunk lights, on top of their usual costs.
A West Kirby Christmas Lights spokesperson said: “Every Christmas, West Kirby, Caldy and Newton come alive with magical festive lights.
“West Kirby Christmas Lights are organised by a small team of volunteers and are funded by the West Kirby, Caldy and Newton residents and business community.
“This year, we’re raising funds to create another spectacular display – and we need your help to make it happen!”
The donations cover the cost of installing and taking down the lights, storage, insurance, maintenance and replacement.
As well as putting cash or cheques into the envelopes and posting through the door of local collectors, donations can also be made at post offices in West Kirby and Newton, and at Mooch and The Front Room.
