Help light up West Kirby’s trees for Christmas

West Kirby Christmas Lights are appealing for donations to help replace fairy lights on tree trunks.

The bulbs need to be replaced as they have reach the end of their life, but the organisers are still £5,000 short of their target.

Chair of West Kirby Christmas Lights, Rachel Kehoe, told us: “The West Kirby Christmas Lights volunteers are working really hard to raise the funds to install the Christmas lights this year.

“In addition to our usual yearly installation costs, we have a stretch fundraising target this year to enable us to buy new fairy lights for the tree trunks. Our current lights are 8 years old and have reached the end of their sparkle.

“We need to raise an additional £9,000 this year, on top of our installation costs, to replenish our stock and we have raised about £4,000 of it.

“Please donate if you can. If you missed the date on your street collection envelope, don’t worry you can still donate online.

“Our amazing Christmas lights display each year is organised and funded by our brilliant CH48 community. Thank you for your continued support in making our community shine through the dark, winter nights. We hope you love this years installation.”
