The Ridger pub is undergoing refurbishment and will reopen next month with a new name.
A new management team, who currently run the Coach & Horses in Greasby, have announced it will be known as the Newton Arms.
In a post on the pub’s Facebook page, Dan and Ian said: “The Ridger is a great local pub, and when we heard it was available we put our names in the hat straight away – and now here we are!
“We are delighted that the majority of the existing team are staying with us here when we reopen, all we ask is for your patience while the place has a bit of a facelift, and whilst some other work is being carried out.
“We can’t give you an official opening date currently, but we expect to be closed for a further 3 weeks, but we will keep you up to date as and when we know.”
