Wirral Council is offering people the chance to request commemorative plaques on West Kirby flood wall.
However the stainless steel tributes come at a price – between £400 and £900 depending on the size and how long you lease the space on the wall.
The council said: “Whether people want to celebrate a loved one, mark a significant milestone in their life, or create a lasting tribute to someone they have lost, the opportunity to leave some special words on this coastal landmark is bound to be popular.
“Crafted from stainless steel and available in two sizes, people can pay to lease plaques that will be mounted on the seating slats along the wall for either five or 10 years, with the option to renew or extend at any time.
“People can choose their preferred spot along the wall from Riversdale Road to Sandy Lane, subject to availability, but those ordering should be clear that they are paying only for the plaque and the lease – they are not buying the seat itself and there are likely to be multiple plaques in each area.”
