Former sailing club official charged with sexual offences

A former commodore of West Kirby Sailing Club has been charged with sexual offences.

Merseyside Police have announced that Adam Whittle from Hoylake is facing two counts of sexual assault on women, alleged to have taken place in 2012 and 2024.

Detectives say it follows a “long-running investigation” and relate to incidents which it is claimed occurred at the sailing club site on Sandy Lane in West Kirby.

Whittle, aged 40, will appear before Wirral Magistrates Court on Monday 2 March.
