Train services into Liverpool extended

Merseyrail is extending its train service in to Liverpool from West Kirby as of Monday 18 May, as more people are expected to return to work following changes to coronavirus restrictions.

The first service from Monday to Saturday will leave West Kirby at 06.01, with departures every half hour until 19.01 when the service will reduce to a 45 minute frequency until 22.46, with a final train at 23.16.

On the return trip, the first service from Moorfields to West Kirby departs at 06.31 with a half hour service until 19.01, reducing to a 45 minute service until the last train at 23.31.

Services on a Sunday in to Liverpool will be every 45 minutes from 08.16 to 19.31 , and from 08.46 to 20.01 on the return service to West Kirby from Moorfields.

Merseytravel is urging people not to travel until they have to and warns that social distancing means there will be limits space.

They also advise commuters to avoid peak time services, buying tickets in advance and paying by contactless methods.
