Bookworms can get their hands on titles from West Kirby library from Monday 12 April.

It is one of four sites across the borough which will be operating an ‘Order and Collect’ service.

The system allows interested residents to pre-order up to eight paperback, hardback and/or talking books at a time and collect them.

A council spokesperson said: “Readers can choose their own books, request a selection from a specific genre or author or those looking for inspiration can opt for a ‘lucky dip’ where the council’s team of librarians will handpick a range of three to four surprise titles.”

The library is operating an Order and Collect service

Orders can be placed online by visiting www.wirral.gov.uk/collect or over the phone by calling 0151 929 7724.

Residents are asked to adhere to the safety measures in place to help protect themselves, staff, and other visitors to the library. Visitors must bring their own bag with them and are reminded to wear a face covering.

No other library services are available at these sites, including the One Stop Shop Service, and it is not possible to enter the library for browsing at this stage.

The gym and swimming pool at West Kirby Concourse are also reopening on 12 April after the Government confirmed its roadmap to lifting lockdown is on track – read more here.
