Black Lodge Brewery is opening a bar in West Kirby later this month.

The brewer, based in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, is taking over the unit formerly occupied by Blind Pig on Banks Road.

Black Lodge West Kirby Taproom opens on Friday 22 March, with the owners promising “a delightful fusion of local craft beer, cocktails, and community-centric events”.

It will have 11 beer taps, three cask lines, and serve ice cream cocktails, wines, and handcrafted cocktails.

Marc Grimshaw and Richie Peters, who are behind the concept, said: “We’re so excited to get the doors open this month on the 22nd to the public – we’ve got some great neighbours and think we will slot in with them and be complementary to a great day and night out in West Kirby.”

They are also planning events in the upstairs function room, including painting workshops, and partnership events with suppliers including Mother Deli, such as a Father’s Day cheese and beer tasting.

The venue will be dog friendly and have over 60 different types of beer across the year, and has chosen the RNLI as its charity partner.
