Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is set to visit West Kirby this Saturday.

The MP will be speaking at an event at Westbourne Methodist Church, on Westbourne Road, at 1.30pm.

The visit has been organised by local Labour MP Margaret Greenwood and is expected to focus on the campaign for England to stay in Europe.

A Labour party spokesman said: “Jeremy will be highlighting the importance of campaigning hard in the coming months to ensure that Labour gets a good result in local council, mayoral and police and crime commissioner elections.

“He will also ask members to make sure Labour plays its part in securing a remain vote in the EU referendum.”

The organisers tell us the event is ticket-only, and is fully subscribed, so there will be no casual admission.
