Tickets are still available for the first-ever Skeleton Coast Festival at Hoylake Parade featuring some of the biggest names in alternative music.

The family-friendly festival is the brainchild of, arguably Hoylake’s most famous residents, The Coral, along with local music management company Coda Presents and community group Hoylake Beacon.

As well as DJ sets from members of The Coral, there will be performance from The Wytches, By The Sea, The Stairs’ Summertyme Jones and She Drew The Gun.

The idea for the festival came from Martin Moseley, of Coda Presents, who previously ran popular, local music venue, Coda Maine, and his good friend Alfie Skelly, of local band The Sundowners and brother to Ian and James from The Coral.

Martin said: “It’s been in the pipeline for quite a while now.

“Both myself and Alfie (Skelly) being Wirral folk, we have spoken at length for a couple of years of how a small festival would go down in the area.

“We were a tad selfish when choosing the lineup, approaching all our favourite local acts to play.

“Merseyside has a fantastic scene, Wirral always seems to over-looked though… most Wirral acts always get labelled as hailing from Liverpool – which isn’t the case, we have The Coral, The Sundowners, She Drew The Gun, Bill Ryder Jones, By The Sea and young promising acts like The Mysterines and Jo Mary – the list is actually endless.”

Aside from the music, Skeleton Coast Festival will also have an array of local food stalls, vintage clothes, handmade crafts and Jewellery, as well as vinyl and memorabilia stalls.

The events takes place from 1pm on Saturday August 6. Tickets cost £20 and are available from http://www.eventim.co.uk/SkeletonCoastFestival
